I start a new blog every year or so... and then something will happen where I will get all fed up with it, and I will delete it.
Reckless, sure...
But it just goes to show exactly how easily I get bored with things. So this is a new one... and I have made a vow to myself that I will not delete it. (Change the colors, screw around with the template, but not send it to the black pit of deletion.)
I was keeping a blog over at MySpace... but MySpace has lost it's allure for me. I no longer visit it like I used too... I can not tell you the last time I logged onto the site. I do still go... because every once in a while, I get a "So and So posted a new blog entry".
Facebook is my social networking home... I spend hours there, hours that I could be doing more productive things... but alas, we all have our vices. Mine just so happens to be Facebook... and well... the Internet in general.
I could live with out cable television... the majority of what I watch can be found on the network sites and Hulu. Sure, I would miss Big Love, and Dexter, but that is what DVDs are for.
So let's see... I suppose I shall introduce myself, because well... isn't that what you are supposed to do in the first blog entry? You would think because I have started blog upon blog, I would have the first post down to a science, but alas, I don't. Don't worry... the second entry will roll.
I have not one, not two, but three babes... two boys and a girl. My Internet names for them are lame, but "lame" is my middle name (which you will no doubt come to understand in time). No. 1 Son is 8, The Girl is 6, and The Baby is 4. I have been staying at home with them from the time that The Girl was 8 weeks old. Luckily, The Chef (My wonderful husband) and I are in the position that he can take care of us, and I am afforded the pleasure of staying at home with them.
Not to say that I didn't have a career before them. I had my Real Estate Title Insurance Licence. Not nearly as exciting as it sounds... but it was a real job, with a real check, and I had worked hard for it. I walked away from it to stay at home and take care of our babes after The Girl was born. It was something that is important to The Chef. After sitting down and crunching some numbers... I was only clearing $100 a week once we paid for everything that comes along with 2 parents working.
So, I gave up my career, and started this new adventure as a Stay-at-Home Mom... and it's been one helluva ride.
I'm a crafter. The only thing that I do not know how to do it knit... and I will learn how to do that eventually. I am a scrapbooker, a cardmaker, a beader, and a cross-sticher. I will try any craft at least once, and I will go back to it if I really enjoy it. I sew, but I lose my patients very quickly with it.
Halloween is my favorite holiday... with Christmas a close second.
I have a fandom, and write fan fic for it.
I enjoy beer. In fact The Chef is homebrewer.
No. 1 Son, and The Girl both play hockey. The Baby tells me that he will play next year. Yes, I am one of those moms.
I am writing my own version of the "Great American Novel". The GAN, is a story that I have thought about for at least 10 years... and finally it is being written down.
My favorite color is Orange. (The Baby's too!)
I expect a lot from my older two... I have to remind myself that they are only 8 and 6. When it comes to The Baby, I let him get away with more than I should. I have to remind myself that he is 4 not 2.
Well... that is it for now... please join me for the ride.
Alicia
P.S. PLEASE check out the Bring Jacob Home Link. My wonderful friend Brigitte and her husband Joe are raising money to adopt a baby boy with Down Syndrome. They are having fundraisers, and right now they are actioning off a Wii. Stop by, and say "Hi" will ya?
